To Realize Our Vision, We Have Partnered With

Ek Plate Biryani will be setting up a food camp for the entire month of Ramadan.
The purpose will be to offer iftar to everyone…
We will be setting it up in a busy area, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, in Karachi…
There are slums closeby…
And heavy traffic.
Our team will offer Iftar to everyone on the streets.
It will be a camp for the entire month…
So people can be sure of where to go if they are suffering from food insecurity.
At the moment, we aim to feed 200 people a day…
If we get enough support from you, We hope to increase the daily count.

Let’s get together and start a movement. So that no one goes hungry this Ramadan.

A great number of people in Karachi live in slums. They lack basic necessities. And are forced to fast without food… Or break their fast with dry, stale Roti. Food that does not provide adequate nutrition. Some of them let go of fasting altogether because of the uncertainty of food.

How sad is it? As Muslims, should we not do something to help them out in their miserable days? Is it not exactly what Ramadan teaches us…?

A Movement That Needs Your Support

It is understandable that we cannot go door to door and ask if they have ample food. There is, however, something we can do to ease this holy month for them…To help them fast with the certainty of food security… And to help them have enough physical strength and motivation to fast the next day. We can join hands and provide food for the entire month of Ramadan.
We will be setting up a food camp in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, near Nipa Chowrangi, to distribute food at Iftar time every day for the entire month of Ramadan. Your contribution to our movement will give it the momentum it needs… And we will be able to provide iftar to 200 people (or hopefully more) each day. InshaAllah.

Why Gulshan-e-Iqbal of all Places?

Karachi is a huge city with people from all socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds.
In this metropolis city, we wanted to choose an area that will allow us to maximize the impact of this project… without discriminating against anyone.
Gulshan-e-Iqbal, near NIPA Chowrangi, came up as the ideal location
It is pretty much the center of the city… connecting various parts to one another.
There are several slums nearby… where poverty is rampant.
Besides, it is a busy thoroughfare, with huge commercial and residential areas, where you will find people from all walks of life.
The traffic on this road at Iftar time often makes it impossible for people to reach their homes in time to break their fasts.
And, then, at that time the slum dwellers, too, roam around in search of food for Iftar.
Our goal is to provide food to everyone.
At this time, our team will be actively distributing food, water, and drinks to everyone who is on the streets to break their fasts.
The aim of the movement is to not let anyone be hungry after their long, hot day of fasting. We ensure that every penny is utilized to its best…
If we are left with any funds from this campaign after Ramadan, we will use that for other causes all round the year.

This Movement, in the light of Hadith

The Prophet of Allah (S.A.W) teaches us to be kind to others. He stresses feeding the hungry… and puts even more weight on this command during the month of Ramadan.
Here are some of his (S.A.W) sayings on the subject:
1. “Whoever feeds a person breaking his fast will earn the same reward as him, without anything being lessened from the reward of the fasting person.” (Tirmidhi)
2. “Whoever feeds a fasting person will have his sins forgiven and will be saved from the hell-fire. He will earn the same reward as the one who has fasted without diminishing the latter’s reward in the slightest.”
(Ibn Khuzaymah)
3. Once the Sahaaba said to the Prophet (S.A.W), “Not all of us find that with which to feed a fasting person.” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) replied, “God gives this reward to whoever breaks another’s fast, even if with a mouthful of milk, a date, or a sip of water.”
(Ibn Khuzaymah)
4. “Let the fasting ones eat iftar with you. Let the good eat from your meal. And let the angels pray for you for forgiveness.”
(Musnad)

What is Ek Plate Biryani, you ask?

Ek Plate Biryani is the brainchild of a handful of us Canadian residents who wanted to give back to society.
We know so many in the world are suffering. And, we wanted to help them.
When we set out to donate, we didn’t know who to trust. Most of the organizations did not offer enough proof.
There, we decided to go the extra mile and create a platform where anyone from any part of the world can help the needy…
Hence, Ek Plate Biryani came into being.
Ek Plate Biryani is a registered Not-For-Profit Organization based in Canada and operating in Pakistan, Uganda, India, the Philippines, and Bangladesh.
Our team includes a number of trained, professional, and honest operation managers and quality control managers, along with several volunteers.
We aim to help people in every possible way. So far, we have the following projects under our belt:
All this was possible because of your help.
In our setup, every penny is accounted for. We ensure you receive the proof whenever you need them.
To ensure 100% transparency, we take pictures and videos of the projects for proof. They are shared on our website, Facebook, and Instagram, as needed.
The rest can be shared with you upon request.
You can check us out at:
We share pictures of our work on social media for those who want to have a look before donating to our causes.
This organization has been built for YOU. Where you can come forward to improve the conditions of your fellow beings.

Let Us Try That Everyone In The City Has Iftar This Year

Our 30-Day Food Camp aims to provide iftar to as many people as possible…
And, it is not achievable without your support.
This is our chance to help the needy and help the fasting Muslims…
This is our chance to ease their burden.
Every penny would help the cause.
Let’s come together to make it a STRONG movement…
So that no one goes hungry in the city this Ramadan.
Fate showed its brighter side to her then.
